Product Introduction

The technology leader ensuring safety on roads and worksites – Sungwon Safety Co., Ltd.

A technology focused on effectively absorbing and cushioning the impact of falling rocks.

01
Method Overview
  • A technology focused on effectively absorbing and cushioning the impact of falling rocks. Ratchet (impact-absorbing devices) are installed at the ends of wire ropes to absorb and disperse the energy of falling rocks, preventing damage to the entire fence and blocking rocks from entering roads. While conventional rockfall protection fences relied on the tension of posts and wire ropes to withstand rockfall energy, this method dissipates the kinetic energy of falling rocks through impact-absorbing devices.
02
Features & Benefits
Enhanced Impact Absorption Capacity
The splice provides a cushioning effect that efficiently absorbs the impact energy of falling rocks, minimizing damage to posts and wire ropes while maintaining the fence’s core functionality.
Enhanced Recovery Capability
Even after absorbing an impact, the spring or other cushioning devices have a natural tendency to return to their original shape, allowing the fence to maintain or quickly recover its form following a rockfall impact. This enhances its ability to defend against additional rockfalls.
Ease of Maintenance
If the impact-absorbing component is damaged, it can be partially replaced, reducing maintenance costs and time.
Minimized Structural Damage
Since the impact is distributed throughout the entire fence, the load on posts and foundation structures is reduced, minimizing damage to the overall structure.
Improved Cost Efficiency
By optimizing material usage—such as reducing the number of wire ropes or increasing the spacing between posts—cost-effectiveness can be achieved. This design approach minimizes material consumption while maintaining sufficient structural strength and safety, leading to reduced overall project costs.

Process
Foundation Work
• Excavation work is carried out according to the designed location.
• Pour and cure the foundation concrete to create a base that can securely support the columns.
Column Installation
• Erect and secure the columns (e.g., H-beams) on the concrete foundation.
• Check that the columns are installed perfectly vertical.
Check that the columns are installed vertically and accurately.
• 지주 간에 와이어로프를 수평으로 연결합니다.
• Install splices (such as springs or dampers) at the ends or midpoints of the wire ropes to provide shock-absorbing functionality.
• Generally, since the lower wire ropes are more likely to be struck by falling rocks, they are sometimes installed with closer spacing.
Installation of Catch Net
• Install a capture net, such as a PVC-coated mesh, onto the columns and wire ropes.
• Securely fasten the net to the wire ropes using clips or other connectors to ensure it is integrated with the ropes.
• Overlap adjacent sections of the net by at least 50 cm to prevent falling rocks from passing through.
Finishing Work
• Inspect the overall connections of the fence and adjust the tension of the wire ropes as needed.
• Clean up the site surroundings and perform backfilling work in the construction area.
